First and foremost, I am a family man. Second, I am an experienced home inspector. My name is Joshua Crepps, and my beautiful wife Jessica and I have 12 exceptional children. Ezra Nazaire, Etta Faith, Eyra James, Esau Charles, Eloise Hope, Evaline Joy, Elyza Honor, Elam Joshua, Engrid Mercy, Esme Patience, Eagan Hardee, and Endie Glory. A licensed home inspector in KY and Indiana, I have been a home inspector since 2010. Additionally, I am a Certified Master Inspector. My knowledge as a home inspector is based on 20 years of experience in the residential, commercial, and industrial construction industries. Gratefully, I’ve inspected over 5000 homes, over the years. I use my experience and knowledge in each area to provide an accurate, thorough, and unbiased inspection of your potential home. I follow the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors standards of practice and the guidelines set forth by the state of Kentucky.

I am a member of InterNACHI I am a member of CCPIA, the Certified Commercial Inspector Association. At one point I was a Building Performance Institute certified Building Analyst and I was certified by the Kentucky Ready Mixed Concrete Association. I am a previous Safety Specialist for the world’s largest online retailer as well for instance.
Knowledge comes from doing
I am the only son (only child for 11 years) and I started working on construction sites when my father started his own construction company in 1988. Additionally, I did visit many sites before that while he was a Forman for Hite Construction. I spent more time on construction sites before high school than most of the men I worked with. Consequently, I have experience in framing, concrete, roofing, siding, masonry, windows, doors, flooring, insulation, site work, new builds, remodels, you name it. It’s hard to place a value on that experience.
To achieve my license, I passed the Nation Home Inspector exam, which I did the first time. I passed it again the other day with a near-perfect score so I could get licensed in Indiana. To continue being licensed in the state I must take multiple courses each year. After 12 years, I’ve taken quite a few courses through InterNACHI. I have a passion for the work I do and continually try to learn more.

Experience Matters
Painstakingly, our first home I built in the evenings after work and on the weekends. It took me several years, but we lived there happily till we outgrew it. I placed the footers myself and the foundation walls. The only three things I didn’t do myself on this house were the rough-in plumbing, the HVAC, and the drywall. As a result, I learned quite a lot when building that house, even though I’d been in the construction trade my whole life.
Determined, our next home I designed myself. With our family growing, we needed space efficiency, and not all houses can fit our family. For instance, I drew the plans down to the very studs and then spent six months sleeping in my Prius till we were able to move in. God bless my wife for taking care of the kids and house by herself while working full time. She had a baby, we adopted our 7th child, and moved everyone & everything inside a two-month time frame.

Look, anyone can decide to get a home inspection license. Half of those individuals will pass their state exam and get their license. Unfortunately, an even smaller fraction of those individuals will continue to inspect homes past their first year. There are several reasons behind this. One is the sheer amount of knowledge an inspector needs, for instance. Another is the ability to connect the issues based on what you know about building techniques. Because the ability to relay the why behind what we call out is crucial to parties that might be skeptical of a critic. Experience is not something that can be faked. A level of expertise most adequately gained by spending a lifetime in the industry.
